The West Kowloon Cultural District is the largest cultural project in Hong Kong. Its vision is to create a vibrant cultural quarter, a vital platform where the local arts scene can interact, develop and collaborate, as well as a place to host and produce world-class arts events. The Xiqu Centre will be the first major venue to open in the Cultural District.

The Xiqu Centre will play a key role in the development of Cantonese Opera in Hong Kong and the overall development of Chinese traditional theatre, linking its long legacy to the present and bridging the cultural divisions between China and the World.
